From broadleaf to needle

Leaves emerging, the shimmering green of spring.

Autumn, golden leaves in the oaks and beech trees.

Broadleaved woodlands were once more common,

now many are replaced by spruce – the work of man.

But there are lush broadleaved woodlands left – in nature reserves, inaccessible places

and around manors and mansions.
